Board of Management
The school is managed by a Board of Management under the patronage of the Arch Diocese of Dublin. The Board is funded by the Department of Education and Science.

A sub-committee of the Board acts as a selection Board for permanent staff appointments and internal post of responsibility promotions. The term of office of this Board began on 1st December 2007 and expires on 30th November 2011.The Parents are elected to the Board by ballot. One teacher is nominated by the teaching staff.
The Board of Management of St. Ciaran's School manages the school under the terms and conditions as set out in the following documents:
- Education Act 1998
- Equal Status Act
- Safety Health and Welfare at Work Act
- Employment Legislation Acts
- Education Welfare Act 2000
- Child Protection Guidelines – D.E.S. 2004
- Education of Persons with Special Needs Act
- Department of Education and Science Circular Letters issued from time to time
The Board is required under the terms of the above acts to inform prospective parents / guardians of the school's policies on a range of issues.
Meetings are held once a month under the Chairmanship of Mr. Terry Connell. A typical meeting would deal with correspondence, school finance (all school accounts come within the board's remit), staffing, school business by way of the Principal's report and issues concerning various members.
Minutes of all meetings are recorded, copies of which have to be forwarded to the Department of Education on an Annual basis. All correspondence and issues of concern are brought to the Board by the Secretary.
The Board of Management is responsible for the overall direction and control of the school.
Parents have the right of appeal to the Board on any issue of importance.
