Healthy Lunches

We, at St. Ciaran's School, encourage healthy eating habits and for this reason we encourage parents to give children lunches that include healthy options from the Food Pyramid i.e. sandwiches and fruit.

Through our S.P.H.E. Programme children will be taught the importance of healthy living and hygiene and we hope that this teaching will be reflected in the lunches children bring to school.

Parents are asked to avoid giving their children fizzy drinks as these can have an adverse effect on their behaviour in school and can interfere with concentration.

In the interest of safety, hot drinks, canned drinks and glass bottles are not allowed.

No crisps, popcorn etc are allowed in school.

Each child must have a lunch box to bring home any uneaten lunch or lunch papers.

Please refer to the school's healthy eating policy. A copy of this policy is available from the school office on request.
